Appalachian Therapeutic Riding Center provides therapeutic horseback riding and non-mounted individualized programs for people with physical, cognitive and/ or emotional challenges in a safe, structured environment.

Physical, occupational/speech and mental health therapists may be present or available for consultation.
If you are interested in becoming a new rider in Appalachian Therapeutic Riding Center's therapeutic program, contact us. New riders will need an initial evaluation at a cost of $25. Please note that new riders must fill out all forms listed below. Riders who are returning must complete all forms not listed as "New Rider" form.
All riders can find the necessary forms below. Forms must be filled out and mailed two weeks prior to the first lesson. Remember that we MUST have updated forms before you can ride.
The Emergency Medical Treatment, Physician Form, and Parent/Guardian Release Form must be completed by all riders each year.
The New Rider Application and New Rider Profile Form are only needed for first time riders.
Cost
The cost to the rider for an eight week therapeutic riding session is $240.00. Payment is due two weeks before the first class. Scholarships are available by application. Note scholarship due dates.
